Road to Hana Tours

Road to Hana Tours

When looking for Road to Hana tours, we like to recommend Valley Isle Excursions.  There are many reasons, but one big one is that they’re locally owned and operated.  We like that they keep business on our island.

Some other reasons to visit Hana with Valley Isle Excursions is for their pickup service at your hotel, continental breakfast, picnic lunch, beverage service, and many guided locations to see.  A few of our favorite spots you’ll be taken to include:

  • Waterfalls on the way to Hana
  • Keanae Peninsula
  • Wainapanapa Black Sand Beach
  • Hana Town
  • Surfing at Hookipa Beach Park

Maui Sunset Cruise

Maui Sunset Cruise

We’ve recently reviewed the Pride of Maui’s sunset dinner cruise.  Here are 10 reasons why you should take a cruise with them:

  1. Live guitarist Joe Cano
  2. Guava glazed baby back ribs grilled on the boat!
  3. Great bar! cold beers, blended drinks, and a selection of wines.
  4. SUNSET!  You can’t beat watching a sunset over the water.
  5. The weather fluctuates very little throughout the year. It’s usually 82 degrees and perfect out.
  6. Their stable catamaran offers an on the water experience unlike single-hulled boats.
  7. Friendly, helpful crew with knowledge of the islands.
  8. Low price at around $60 per adult and $40 per child age 3-12.
  9. Pride of Maui makes sure to not crowd a boat with passengers.
  10. dolphin watching and seasonal whale watching

There are plenty of other reasons, but you’ll have to find them out on your own.

Maui Ziplines

Maui Ziplines

We thought we’d share a few zipline courses in Maui that we’ve done lately. Skyline Eco-Adventures have zipline courses in Kaanapali and in Haleakala. Learn more about Maui zipline in the article below the video.

Kaanapali zipline

Skyline Eco-Adventures

The photo on the right was taken taken at the Kaanapali Course with Skyline Eco-Adventures.  We love both the Haleakala and Kaanapali course because not only do you get a wild ride on ziplines, but you also learn about the natural area around you while hiking from each line.

Skyline opened it’s first zipline course on Maui in 2002.   They’re first concern is always safety.  Their second concern is how much fun you have as well as teaching visitors about the area.  Our guides have always been extremely friendly and knowledgeable.

The food they served us was great too!  I was actually surprised because most activity companies skimp on the grub.  They had a beautiful spread for us to enjoy.

Finally, I really like the fact that you can spin around while zipping.  It offers you more of a chance to see the views around you (and behind you!)

Make sure to bring a camera or a video camera to capture the experience.  You can shoot with one hand and control the straps with the other hand. After you’ve made the video, share it with your friends and family.  You’ll be surprised how many people will be jealous and impressed with something that seems so scary and adventurous.  The thing is, you’ll be amazed at how simple, safe, and fun the experience really is.  We’ve taken friends that are deathly afraid of heights and they had no problems after the first line.
